In recent years, the public debate on family reunification in Norway has shown how strongly political decisions affect the most private parts of life. Questions about residence, legal status and integration do not stop at laws and numbers; they enter the intimate space of relationships, care and belonging.
For many migrants, separation from their families is not the result of personal choices, but of legal rules that decide who may be together.
